KosmodeHealth x CNA recap! | Food for the Planet
28 March 2022
Didn't manage to catch the live broadcast of 'Food to Change the World" Ep3?
Fret Not, we've got your back! Here's our short and sweet summary of what went down:
''The prevalence of chronic diseases have increased among Singaporeans over the last 3 years!''
Diabetes: 8.8% in 2017 to 9.5% in 2020
High blood cholesterol: 35.5% in 2017 to 39.1% in 2020
High blood pressure: 24.2% in 2017 to 35.5% in 2020
1/4 of all Singaporeans aged 40 and above have at least one of these chronic conditions
On the other hand, with only 1% of land available for food production in Singapore, our country is faced with the imminent threat of food insecurity!
Do you occasionally enjoy a pint of chilled beer to destress? What about a warm energising cup of Milo to perk you up in the day? Have you ever wondered how these beverages are made?
If your answer is 'YES', then you are definitely in for a treat! We've got the entire process documented in this episode!
At the end of these production processes, TONS (and I mean, more than 75,000 tons!) of spent barley grains are produced - only to be used as fertilisers or in landfills!
These nutrient-packed spent barley grains are simply not put into good use!
We recognise the immense value of these spent barley grains, which is why W0W® noodle was developed! By upcycling food processing by-products, Kosmode Health strives to expand access to health from nature ❤️
Follow Chef Ming as he journeys through the process of W0W production up till the exciting taste test!
